We are to reach our community, state, country, and the world with uncompromised Word of God. We will inspire, edify, and equip the saints, through the utilization of the Word of God and the Holy Spirit, to fulfill the calling of the Lord making disciples of all who have come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.

Art & Myrtie Cardenas

Pastor

Art Cardenas

Pastor Art & Myrtie Cardenas are the founders of Abundant Faith Church. They have been married since 1987. They have two beautiful daughters; Melanie and Jennie. They also have two grandsons; Julian and Maximus. They serve together in leadership with Pastor Art as Senior Pastor and Pastor Myrtie helps support her husband as Assistant Pastor and wherever her services are needed within the body. Together they have experienced miracle after miracle and the favor of God in their lives throughout the years.

When Art was 20 years old he moved to the big city of Houston, Texas to get out of El Paso and start a new life on his own. It was there that one day at a Long John Silver's Restaurant he had a true encounter with Our Lord Jesus Christ and received him as his Savior. It was through a stranger at the restaurant that day who took the time to minister and explain Christ's salvation plan and promises for Art that convinced him and changed his life forever. Art Cardenas has been serving the Lord since October of 1983 and has never been the same since that day at the Long John Silver's when he received Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He just knew that God had a calling on his life. From that day forward he became a steward for Christ just ministering everywhere he went, from his job, to visiting his family back home, to the grocery store, etc. Christ was the center of his life and there was no stopping Art.

Art learned to be dedicated and disciplined for school and for work. The traits that his mom truly instilled in him helped him to succeed in the work force. He tried college for one year, but because of finances he decided to work full time. In Houston Texas, a friend invited him to come and work as an electrician. He joined the electrical union and went to trade school to study electrical theory and after four years became a licensed electrician.

His commitment and dedication to being faithful to work and school paid off. He is now a Pastor in Round Rock and teaching youth about being successful by commitment, dedication, and consistency.

Pastor Art Cardenas has witnessed miracle after miracle in his life as he's experienced God's Favor over the years. Art has learned of God's goodness and that when you're a child of God, he surrounds you with a shield of favor; Psalm 5:12! Abundant Faith Church's motto is We walk by Faith, Not by Sight. 2 Corinthians 5:7 and that is certainly the motto Pastor Art lives by.

Our Church Beliefs :

THE SCRIPTURES: The Bible, the Scriptures, both Old and New Testaments, are the inspired Word of God without error in the original writings, and are the complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men, and the divine and final authority for all Christian faith and life. (2 Timothy 3:16; 1 Thessalonians 2:3; 2 Peter 1:21)

JESUS CHRIST: Jesus Christ is true God and true man, having been conceived of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died on the cross, the complete and final sacrifice for our sins according to the Scriptures. Further, He arose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, where, at the right hand of the Majesty on High, He is now our High Priest and Advocate. (Luke 3:21-22; Philippians 2:5-11; John 3:31-32, 36; John 14:6)

THE HOLY SPIRIT: The ministry of the Holy Spirit is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ and during this age, to convict men of sin, regenerate the believing sinner, indwell, guide, instruct, and empower the believer for godly living and service. (John 14:17, 26)

SALVATION: The shed blood of Jesus Christ and His resurrection provide the only ground for justification and salvation for all who believe, and only such as receive Jesus Christ by faith are born of the Holy Spirit and thus become children of God. Man's first step toward salvation is Godly sorrow that worketh repentance. The new birth is necessary to all men, and when it is fulfilled, it produces eternal life. (2 Corinthians 7:10; 1 John 5:12; John 3:3-5)

COMMUNION: THE LORD'S SUPPER: The Lord's Supper is a memorial service setting forth in sacred and symbolic manner the death of the Lord Jesus Christ; all true believers and only believers should share in it. Until He comes, we partake of the Lord's Supper to illustrate the Lord's death. The bread symbolizes the Lord's broken body. The cup represents the new covenant of His blood, which provides us with forgiveness and relationship with God. Christians realize that salvation is provided through the finished work of Christ and these sacraments are symbolic of His finished work. (l Corinthians 11:23-31; Isaiah 53:5; Hebrews 9:1)

Who we are:

WE ARE FAITH PEOPLE!

⦁ Fathers Day of 2002, God opened the doors of Abundant Faith Church in a small office space in Round Rock, TX. Pastor Art being raised by a single mom with 6 siblings, was led by the Holy Spirit to honor God on Father’s Day because He is a Father to the Fatherless. 5 years later, God miraculously blessed Abundant Faith Church with their building that sits on 3 acres of land.

⦁ “For we live by FAITH, and not by sight.” 2 Corinthians 5:7, is the motto here at AFC. The people here at Abundant Faith Church continue to see miracles, blessings, and bondages being broken in their lives with a congregation that is more like family that encourages one another and lifts each other up in Faith and in the powerful Word of God.

Our Vision:

⦁ The Vision at Abundant Faith Church is to win the Lost at Any Cost by:

⦁ PURSUE God’s presence and purposes by putting Him first in our individual, family and corporate lives.

⦁ REACH others with the life changing message of Jesus Christ and continue to build, strengthen and extend the Kingdom of God through loving God and loving people.

⦁ CULTIVATE honest, loving relationships that challenge one another to GROW through the teaching of the Word, prayer, worship, giving, serving and accountability.

What We Believe In:

God the Father
God the Father is the creator and sustainer of all things. He created the universe in His great love. He created man in His own image for fellowship. After the rebellion and fall of man, God lovingly restored man through the life, death, and resurrection of His son, Jesus.

The Trinity
God is both One and Triune. Both the Old and New Testaments and the Christian Church testify that there is only one God and that He is eternally existent in three persons; Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

The Son
Jesus Christ is eternally God. Jesus was present with the Father and the Holy Spirit from the beginning, and through Christ all things were made. To redeem man, Christ left heaven and became flesh by the Holy Spirit and through a virgin named Mary; He is forever one Christ with two natures, God and man.

The Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is God, the Lord and giver of life. He was active in the Old Testament. Yet, He was given to the Church in His fullness at Pentecost. The Holy Spirit empowers the believer for service and witness. He cleanses us from our old nature and conforms us to the image of Christ. The Baptism in the Holy Spirit following conversion, releases the fullness of the Spirit which is demonstrated by fruit and gifts in the life of the believer.

The Scripture
We believe that the Bible, the Old and New Testaments, is the infallible and inspired Word of God. Its’ authority is ultimate, final and eternal. It cannot be added to, subtracted from, or superseded in any regard. The Bible is the source of all doctrine, instruction, correction and reproof. It enables us to find the path to Christian godliness and lifestyle.

The Atonement
The Word of God declares salvation is a free gift from God. It is based on the sinless life, sacrificial death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. Salvation is a product of faith. It occurs through personal repentance, belief in the Lord Jesus, and submission of oneself to Him as Lord and Savior. The new life in Christ includes the privileges of adoption and an inheritance in God’s Kingdom. Salvation is an act of free will in response to God’s personal love for mankind. It is predestined only in the sense that God, through His omniscience, foreknew who would choose Him. It is secure in the eternal, unchanging commitment of God who does not lie and is forever the same. Salvation should produce a lifestyle of loving obedience and service to Jesus Christ our Savior.

The Christian Life
We believe that the bible reveals that the life of the believer in this world is a balance between what is required of us as believers and what is imparted to us according to our faith and maturity. Hence, God’s provision for His children is total. His promises are final and forever. There will be shortcomings of both individuals and the Church as we work out our salvation. The Christian life is filled with trials, tests and warfare against a spiritual enemy. God’s promises of eternal life are assured for those who abide in Christ. Through our dependence on the Holy Spirit, we are able to remain faithful through all circumstances of life.

The Church
There is a dynamic that can only be captured in a corporate gathering. We come to extravagantly worship our God, agree in prayer, study the Word, and testify of the goodness and faithfulness of our God. Colossians 3:15 instructs “Let the message about Christ completely fill your lives, while you use all your wisdom to teach and instruct each other. With thankful hearts, sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to God.” At Gateway, we believe that each person has purpose and meaning. We provide a safe environment for believers to grow in their gifts as they encourage one another to become all God has called them to be.

Church Government
As defined in Ephesians 4, the five-fold ministry governs the Church. Church policy is a balance between congregation and eldership authority emphasizing the final authority of Church leadership.

Baptism and The Lord’s Supper
The Word of God instructs the Church on two sacraments of the Lord Jesus Christ. The first, baptism, is the outward sign of what God has already done in the individual’s life and is a testimony to all that the person now belongs to Jesus. As per Jesus’ instruction in Matthew 28:19, we “baptize them in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit”. (CEV) Our Lord’s victorious resurrection is celebrated in our second sacrament, the Lord’s Supper. It is done in remembrance of Him until He comes again. The Lord’s table is open to all believers.

Eschatology
We affirm the bodily, personal, second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ, the resurrection of the saints, the millennium, and the final judgment. The final judgment will determine the eternal state of both the saint and the unbeliever.

The messages are everyday focused, yet relevant for Eternity.

You’ll find people dressed in everything from jeans to suits. Whatever you prefer…we just want to make it as comfortable as possible for you to come and meet with God. Our hope is that you will not only find a relationship with God but also a community of believers who want to become like family as we all go after God together.
